So I've been busy building a few things and decided I needed a place to showcase them. hub13.xyz is that place. It is also a domain where I can host some of them so that the most expensive part of these little projects isn't buying a domain every time.
While we're here, let's also do a quick intro to some of the projects that already exist:
- Wind Co-op Dashboard: live monitoring for a community wind farm, built for the Graig Fatha co-op. This is interesting because it is in TinyGo and runs on the edge- no backend.
- Gather: a self-hosted local events aggregator- Perthshire.Events runs on it.
- Lochle - guess the Scottish loch, a new one every day. Turns out there are a lot of lochs (over 25000) and so this is insanely hard. Somebody once got it in two.
- Earn Your Descent: upload your runs and rides and only then can buy some exclusive swag. This is a bit of a life motto one for me- you have to earn things, not everything has to be instant gratification. Also, pushing back a bit on consumerism and even a bit eco as all garments are Remill fibre
- Flux - a personal finance app that tracks your net money rate in real time, via open banking. This has hit a major road block because open banking isn't actually so open.
- ReminDiary - a private journal that remembers what you wrote on this day in years past. This has now been published on F-Droid (an alternative app store with principles).
- Ridgeline: turn any mountain or hill into a custom line-art print. Still working on this, but some of the pictures it produces are very cool!
- Totpad - a fast TOTP authenticator for the Adafruit MacroPad, keyed from a 2FAS backup, in CircuitPython. Use this every day!
More of these to come, but needless to say, I'm having fun!
